Gianyar Open Stage Development
Gianyar’s dream to become art center area but still have no colossal representative place to held their art and cultural works in the near future will be realized into an open stage. This open stage will be build at the east part of Balai Budaya Gianyar and worth for IDR 2 Billion.
Due to Bali Post observation on Sunday (June 20) yesterday, the development activity looks has begin. Information received that the open stage initial development has been begin since last week. The workers starting dissemble the building’s stairs and some Bali ornament decorated Gianyar Regent Heritage building, Regent Cok. Budi Suryawan.
The open stage development will be conducted for 150 days, starting from June 2nd 2010 by contractor Adi Murti co. This open stage development had been in discourse since last year. Illustration for this stage was presented and socialized to artists and humanists in Gianyar. Open stage existence would make any entertainment and art performance get moved from Astina field immediately after the stage officially inaugurated. The capacity made for this stage even nearly close with the Art Center.
The development of this open stage once give anxiety for Traditional Village people of Gianyar in relation with catus pata concept at the north of the building which the road location is at the south precisely in front of the cultural hall. According to the plan, that road also will become a stage whose height get lifted 75 centimeters. Vehicles still can pass the road if there is no activity at that stage.
For the time being, separately, Gianyar Regent Tjok. Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati in concern with the open stage development builds by Gianyar Regional Government through their regional budgetary and expense fund is hope could become a place for artisans and humanists creatively develop or give birth to new creation in term of art and culture. In relation with catus pata, indeed this becomes government concern. The existence of catus pata has become government serious concern though this catus pata existence would not disturbed by the development of this open stage.
In relation with the cultural hall, in accordance with the design created, part of this cultural hall demolished is merely its east side. The bottom of the stage latter will be used as the dressing area for the artists.
