Tens of Models on Ubud Main Road
Tens of models are in action on the main road of Ubud, Gianyar Regency, Bali, on Saturday evening, performing the works of top Indonesian designers.
The show was one of attraction from Festival Budaya Gempita Gianyar 2010 – Gianyar 2010 Cultural Euphoria Festival – with “Ubud Street Bash” as its theme in term of music and clothing carnival, could attract thousands of local and foreign attention, as they thronged at the roadside around Puri Ubud.
The carnival held at the second day of this Gianyar euphoria at least performing the parade of 22 top designers with Bali weaving collection.
Those designers are Chossy Latu, Denny Wirawan, Ivan Gunawan, Barli Asmara, Ali Charisma, Ari Seputra, Adesagi Kierana, Danny Satriadi, Angelica Wu, Dina Midiani, Dwi Iskandar, Enny Ming, in addition to other designers such as Lenny Agustin, Malik Moestaram, Monika Weber, Yenli Wijaya, Oka Diputra, Putu Aliki, Sofie, Tude Togog, Tjok Abi, Taruna K Kusmayadi, Defryco Audy and Thomas Sigar.
“Cloth theme from woven material intended to raise again the sublime nature of woven in Bali with varied touch from motive, design and quality point of view,” said Ali Charisma, a designer who get basis in Bali.
Besides mode, the parade also accompanied by local music and dances such as gong kebyar and baleganjur. “Ubud Street Bash becomes the biggest cultural parade ever held here,” said Tussy Hapsary, the committee for Gianyar Euphoria.
Music and clothes parade was start on Ubud main road around 04.00 p.m., from Puri Ubud and end in Astina Court as the Bali cultural center in that area.
Thousands of people watching the parade in order to witnessing straightly those models action that usually performs on the catwalk.
People and tourists enthusiastically enjoyed the show and did not miss that cultural procession where they also documented it in camera.
Looks Gianyar Regent, Tjokorda Sukawati Ardana, head of Financial Examiner Department Anwar Nasution and his officials as well as invited guests from friends of the State.
After watching the model parade on street, the guests attended the closing ceremony of this Festival Budaya Gempita Gianyar at Peliatan Royal Heritgae Dinner. “This is an elegant dinner presented with Balinese royal style held at Puri Agung Peliatan,” said Tussy as he accompanied by Arief Dimas Senoaji.
This dinner also try to lift the greatness of royal tradition in Gianyar that rooted in an authentic dining tradition as well as served typically high-flavored dish.
This royal dining attended by limited circle consists of Gianyar and Bali government officials as well as other areas in addition with local public figures and representatives from various parties.
