Six Indonesian artisan which consist of two artists from Bali, Nyoman Sujana Kenyem and Antonious Kho whilst the other four are from Yogyakarta, Bahtiar Dwi Susanto, Ronald Apriyan, Muhammad Lugas Syllabus and Heri Purwanto invited to participate in Myanmar-Indonesia Art Exchange 2010 program for July 13-22 in Yangon Myanmar.

Together they will get involve in that program with six Myanmar artisans, Sandy, Sandar Khine, Kyu Kyu, Hnin Darli Aung, Aye Ko and Kaung Su. They would participate in exhibition activity, discussion, and symposium as well as art demo in Yangon, the biggest city in Myanmar.

We are invited by New Zero Art Space which supported by local Cultural Ministry,” said Kenyem in his press conference on Sunday (July 11).

According to Nyoman Sujana Kenyem, in a program with Ongoing Echo as its theme, the twelfth artisans will exchange their idea and experiences through artistic process as well as in dialog so they could understand each other art and cultural background.
Moreover, this momentum hoped could tighten friendly relationship between the two countries in term of art and cultural department.

Kenyem said that the join exhibition held at Beik Thano Aert Gallery, the twelve artists would participate in a symposium at New Zero Art Space building.

Each asked to present their idea, process and point of view in creating their work. The committees give freedom for the contestants to send their art works on canvas, combination of ink printed or pigmentation and perhaps the probability of other media.

Kenyem correspondent with Kaung Su since several months ago said that artists in Myanmar are far more open and want to support more intense relationship to create something for art and cultural development as well as raising their community’s identity in this area.

From the activity they hope there will be strong art network and hold other artists from other countries in the world that have the same vision.

The same confessed by Antonius Kho who since the beginning pioneering this activity. He proud of his colleagues effort in ensuring Myanmar government, leads by authoritarian military in order to held this fine art.

Those artisans agreed with their universal art language that they determined strengthening their cultural core and appearing strong united spirit of South East Asia to perform in global world.

“We will conduct intensive communication through long term cooperation and stepping various possibilities to excite fine art contemporary,” said Antonius.

During their stay in the country achieved Peace Nobel 1991, Aung San Suu Kyi, those artists are given a chance to acquainted closer with local culture by visiting museums and cultural sites, among them was Pagoda Shwedagon, the biggest 2.000 years old Budha statue.

Tosca Irwan Prasetya from Indonesian community in Yangon through his message on Facebook said that he would invite his friends to enlightening the opening ceremony.
