No Price Hike yet for Nine Basic Needs
H-3 proceeds to Lebaran, the price for nine basic needs relatively stable. Meanwhile numbers of market visitors increase significantly.
Observation received from Public Market Negara, on Tuesday (September 7th) showed that the flow of market visitor has begin since early in the morning up to the noon they still huddling at the biggest traditional market in Jembrana.
Even approaching the peak of Lebaran day number of customer come to the market increase from the day before, generally the price for nine basic needs even some goes through price decrease.
“Since last week, the price for the basic needs starting to decrease instead number of customer was getting increase,” said Murni one of the basic needs trader at Negara Public Market.
Murni herself confessed that she did not understand why price for the basic needs approaching Lebaran that usually hikes drastically this year actually decreased.
“If the basic needs price decreased, I eventually don’t know the cause. It is clear that all traders here imposed almost the same price,” Murni explained whilst serve her customer.
The same thing also confessed by Susun. This cake seller confessed that he intentionally decreasing her goods’ price approaching Lebaran.
“I intentionally decreased the price for 500 Rupiah considering Lebaran only days ahead. What can I do, as far as I sell well, it’s better than loss,” Susun confessed.
Not only the basic needs, but people also invaded clothes merchant. “It for Lebaran day. I just feel something not right if my children didn’t wear new clothes for that day since it only once in a year,” said Hildawati, member of Rening village, Baluk, Negara.
Some basic needs went through price decreased cover, rice with first quality decrease 500 Rupiah into Rp 7 thousand/kilogram, onion from Rp 12 thousand/kilogram become Rp 8 thousand/kilogram, garlic is 24 thousand Rupiah per kilogram become 20 thousand Rupiah per kilogram. Cayenne pepper in the other hand decreased drastically from Rp 40 thousand/kilogram to Rp 24 thousands/kilogram. Cooking oil decreased 2 thousand Rupiah becomes Rp 12 thousands/kilogram the same with the palm oil that is now Rp 10 thousands/kg.
