Denpasar Parking Lot Reorganized
Free parking yard areas on Gajah Mada Street and Sulawesi Street are planned to reorganize by setting up new traffic signs. Reorganization did due to those locations are the heritage area of the city. “There are many bad vehicle owners who parking their vehicles though there was parking ban along this way,” said the Head of Control and Operational for Public Vehicles Department from Transportation Office Denpasar, Ketut Sriawan yesterday (6/2).
He asked all of vehicle owners who want to go to Badung market and Kumbasari market to parking their vehicles in the right parking lot. It is not only going to market visitors but also the shop owners. “If shop owners were bringing motorcycle, please take a parking lot in the northern side of Sulawesi Street. We hoped there is no vehicle on the sidewalks anymore,” said him.
Mr Sriawan confessed his side had coordinated with Regional Company of Parking Yard especially the parking operator. Even transportation department has sent 65 officers to regulate parking lots in Gajah Mada Street and Sulawesi Street. “It was being a warning for bad people who violated parking rules. After we did this discipline action, we would monitor the traffic activities,” said the coordinator of Operational Control for Public Vehicles Denpasar, Nengah Jana Ariawan.
Officers were setting up traffic cord to kick out the violation of parking rules. However officers still giving an exception for temporary interest such as ones who want to buy medicines. Buyers allowed to park in front of drugs store but it is not more than five minutes. “The exception validated for emergency interest such as buying medicines,” said him.
